DIGITAL IMAGE PROCESSING

Digital image processing deals with manipulation of digital images through a digital computer. It is a subfield of signals and systems but focus particularly on images. DIP focuses on developing a computer system that is able to perform processing on an image. The input of that system is a digital image and the system process that image using efficient algorithms, and gives an image as an output.

Two Day Hands on Workshop - CONTENTS

  • Basics of Imaging techniques

  • Image formats

  • Basic exposure to MATLAB software

  • Working with 1D and 2D arrays

  • Preprocessing Techniques: Gray scale conversion, Brightness adjustment, Contrast Stretching, Gamma correction

  • Filtering Techniques: LPF, HPF, Averaging Filter, Masking, Guassian, Median filtering

  • Segmentation Techniques: Thresholding Gray scale and Colour, Region growing

  • Feature Extraction: Shape & Texture features

NOTE TO ALL SELEECTED STUDENTS

  • Students must bring their ID cards

  • PEC students must get OD permission letter signed by HOD & Faculty Advisor

  • Attendance for two days is mandatory

  • Students have to individually bring LAPTOP with MATLAB software installed & Power Extension Box

  • Registration fees has to be paid on Day 1 upon arrival

    • Registration Fees 

      • For PEC UG students Rs 250 /- (Without Lunch) - Rs 500/- (with Lunch)

      • For PEC Research Scholars Rs 750 /- (Without Lunch) - Rs 1000/- (with Lunch)

      • For Other college UG students - Rs 750/- (with Lunch)

  •  For students who want LUNCH it is mandatory to give your names in advance to Mr. RAHUL PERRI          (94430 70438) - to make arrangements​​

  • For other college students - Hostel facilities will be given
